One side of my job which I love is the really great people I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with. I am now pleased to collaborate again with one of these people, Laura Harrison, a professional Make-up artist, who is willing to share with you some of her secrets for flawless skin! I hope that you enjoy some of the photographs we have created together and don’t forget to visit her website for more information.

It’s the countdown to your wedding day and it’s only natural to want to look glowing and radiant!
As a professional make-up artist, here are some tips that I give to my brides at their make-up trials to help them prepare for their big day.
Feed your skin
Now is a good opportunity to review your skin care regime. Make sure the products you’re using are suitable for your skin type whether you have dry, combination or oily skin.
Keep well hydrated and moisturise daily. Your skin will look healthier and fine lines will diminish. Don’t be tempted to skip moisturiser – your skin may overproduce oil to compensate for the lack of hydration causing blemishes!
If you don’t already exfoliate regularly, this is the time to start. There are lots of different products available from manual exfoliators (muslin cloths, facial scrubs) to chemical exfoliators to help your brighten skin.
Some of my favourite products…
Cleanser – Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
Moisturiser – Embryolisse Hydra-Mat Emulsion
Exfoliator – Alpha-H Liquid Gold
Don’t try anything for the first time
If you’re planning any beauty treatments for your wedding day, have a trial run to make sure you’re totally happy with the results. Your Hen Night is a good opportunity to do this to make the most of being pampered! Look for reputable therapists and be wary of offers that seem to good to be true.
Treatments to consider…
Fake tan – choose a light formula for a subtle glow and it’ll help even out your skin tone. Useful if you’re prone to high colour when you’re nervous.
Eyelash extensions – individual lashes are attached to your own and when applied well, look amazing! Look out for quality lashes (not thick or rubbery) and careful application to lessen shedding and clumping.
Eyebrow shaping – well-shaped eyebrows can make a big difference to polishing your overall look. Remember that you may experience some redness afterwards so best avoided on the morning of your big day!
Two week manicure – products such as Gelish and Shellac offer 2-3 weeks of chip-free, shiny nails. Perfect to see you through your wedding day and honeymoon.
And the most important advice of all? Relax, enjoy and have an amazing day!
Laura x
